tc079 Balboa Burnout - OKHC.

Nach mehr als drei Jahren endlich das erste Album von Balboa Burnout aus Göttingen und Bremen. Auf unnötigen Schnick-Schnack wie Demos oder Singles wurde verzichtet, dafür gibt es hier 11 Songs lang das beste deutschsprachige Punkrock-Album in 2010.
Einige Jahre nach dem Ableben von El Mariachi steht deren Sänger Tobi wieder mit neuer Band auf der Bühne, geblieben sind die großartigen, intelligenten und eigenwilligen Texte und der einmalig charismatische Gesang.
Dazu kommen eingängige Hardcore-Punkrocksongs mit klasse Melodien, technischer Versiertheit und verdammt packenden Gitarren. Mal wird drauflos geknüppelt, dann gibt es wieder melancholische, emotionale Momente, in denen die Liebe zu Leatherface oder Hot Water Music durchscheint.
Was bleibt, sind kleine Hymnen wie sie kaum eine zweite Band zu Stand bringt. Was bei El Mariachi schon prägend war, wird hier perfektioniert: Hardcore-Punk weitab vom Mainstream mit Herz, Kopf und Verstand!
Die deutschen Texte sind manchmal kurz und knapp auf den Punkt, ohne dabei stumpf oder ausgelutscht zu sein, die Refrains bleiben hängen und sind Perlen, die Du nicht mehr aus dem Kopf kriegst.
Und das allerwichtigste: Balboa Burnout mögen zwar vergleichbar sein mit Bands wie Captain Planet, Turbostaat oder Düsenjäger, bleiben dabei aber nicht zuletzt aufgrund des Gesang immer eigenständig und lassen sich nie wirklich in eine Schubladen packen.
Ein wunderbares Album, was die Messlatter verdammt hoch hängt!
Aufgenommen in mehreren Anläufen 2009 und 2010 in Göttingen, abgemischt im Mai 2010 in der Tonmeisterei Oldenburg von Henner. Artwork von Marco / Captain Planet.
